‘Bout Me
- —DOH INFO—-
Oh, hi! DOH stands for my full name: Deena Odelle Hyatt. I was born in Bangkok Thailand during a Monsoon, lived in London, England, Virginia, and DC. Now I live in Austin TX with two cats and work at School For The Blind And Visually Impaired.
I am a formerly trained vocalist, current performing artist and avant guard home chef. Occasionally I throw special events.
I’ve performed at venues such as Ballet Austin, Ceremony Hall, MACC (Mexican American Cultural Center), Emo’s, Beerland, Beauty Bar, Co-Lab and Salvage Vangaurd Theatre.
I had my stage debut at New Music Coop’s The Universal Instrument in 2008 and I’ve since performed with Low Red Center, Gayle Gold, Nanobangbang, and most recently, Mongoose (an improv group dedicated to a twist on John Zorn’s COBRA).
I graduated from The University of Texas in English with credits transferred from American University DC where I was majoring in Conflict Resolution.

NBB.5 @ SVT for CotFG for Lady Friends
I founded Tailless Cat Productions in 2004. TCP is a project to keep our mailbox alive and creating incentive for paper encounters and special events. Then in 2008, Nanobangbang started happening. NBB is a project based in variety that expands the creative community by re-contextualizing talented collaborators.
I’m currently not performing but I am involved in voice acting and also in a recording project with D4 called Shabu Saga.

I have a focus on kinesthetics / movement and an unrelenting interest in refining adventure. Naturally, I’m currently studying Alexander Technique. A.T. is a discipline that helps us develop poise by organizing the body by means of the primary control (the relationship between the head, neck and back) and allowing us to become aware of our psycho-physical habits without judgement.
It is a subtle practice and I’m thrilled to be studying under Sumi Komo. Aside from 35 years experience in Alexander Technique, Sumi is a senior member of the Integral Yoga® Teachers Association and has been teaching Integral Yoga® for over 30 years. She has an M.A. in Dance,Psychology and Sports Medicine and continues to teach and develop workshops on Yoga and the Alexander Technique and on Yoga Dance. Her focus is on awareness of the harmonious and graceful weaving of these various practices through the heart of movement.
Sumi originally trained and danced professionally in New York City with Merce Cunningham, Carolyn Brown and others in the Cunningham lineage.

Future plans involve opening a multi-functional studio / performing arts space where I can integrate my experience working with creative peers and creative kids, throwing events, performing, and also somehow my training in Alexander Technique. In other words, this will be a place where much nurturing and fostering is facilitated by day and where many types of happenings are possible at night.
